As some of you know, Neda is OBSESSED with fancy soaps! (They do make the perfect little token gifts!)

This year, she decided to take it upon herself (and the ladies here at Neda) to beautifully hand-wrap our own soaps!!! These fabulous triple-milled french soaps smell amazing and lather wonderfully (we've tried!!!!)

All women know how important it is to own the perfect LBD (Little Black Dress), but for some reason everyone seems to forget about her cousin, the Little Black Vest! Owning a simple black vest is crucial to any woman's wardrobe which is why I find it funny that most women choose not to wear them. It is the best accessory to spruce up any outfit!

We were rushing around getting our costumes together for Halloween (more on that later) so we didn't have time to post these photos earlier.

Last week, on one of the greyest fall days yet, we opened the door of Neda and found ourselves gazing at the most unbelievable rainbow!

It stretched out across Cobble Hill and as we followed it across the sky we saw that it ended right on Court Street!

We looked for the pot of gold, but came up short...although the sight of the rainbow itself was enough to brighten our dreary fall day.  Hope you had a chance to see it!

Hate having to stop home before meeting your friends out for a drink to change out of your drab work clothes? I do! But thankfully with the transitioning weather comes transitioning outfits! It's super easy to wear your "going out" outfit to work without having that uncomfortable feeling of overexposure! Grab your bosses attention for all the right reasons by layering a sweet little sweater over your hot little dress! Once 5:00 rolls around, rip that sweater off, throw on your statement necklace and pack your clutch (both which conveniently fit into your unnecessarily large purse which you lug to work daily)! Fall make-up is all about the bold lip.  Bright reds, dark berries, warm nudes are everywhere this season.  As that summer tan fades, a bold lip is a good way to balance your complexion.  As Neda always says: If you think your outfit is washing you out, add lipstick!!!

Everyone woman has her own lipstick ritual.  Here is our method for applying long-lasting color.

STEP ONE: Get your tools together.

You will need lip balm, a lip pencil, a lip brush, and a tube of matching lipstick.

STEP TWO: Moisturize your lips.

Apply a base of lip balm (not too thick!) and let it sink in for a minute or two.

STEP THREE: Line and fill in your lips with lip liner.

This provides a waxy base and gives the lipstick something to hold on to.  Follow the outer line of your lips (don't draw outside the lines!) and make sure you just barely touch the corners.

STEP FOUR: Fill in your lips with lipstick, straight from the tube (it gives you the most pigment).

Use the lip liner as a guide, and again, stay in the lines to avoid clown-mouth! ;)

STEP FIVE (OPTIONAL): With your lip brush, smooth the lipstick and clean up the outer edges of your smile!

Make sure you get all the way out to the corners, but do it delicately (again, to avoid clown-mouth)!  This is also a good time to sharpen the line along your cupid's bow.

STEP SIX: TA DA!!! Smile! :) You are now wearing one of fall's biggest make-up tends!

Good make-up takes effort; touch up from the tube throughout the day to keep your pout fresh!

So.  It was a beautiful fall Monday right up until the moment when we closed the store.  We started heading over to Strong Place for our typical after-work drink....

(Located conveniently at 270 Court St.)

(We always go to Strong Place after work for the delicious Lambrusco and snacks of all sorts.  We are especially partial to the lamb burger and ESPECIALLY partial to the "Clams Brats & Beer." This local gem has become a staple for the Neda crowd!)

Anyway.  We were about to go in for a drink and a snack when we were caught in the most treacherous of rainstorms! 

We bailed on Strong Place and ran for the car!  We decided to drive to Amaia's abode for vino and cookies.  We had just entered Fort Greene when we were assailed by the mightiest of hailstorms. Yes, ladies (and gents?), A HAILSTORM!  In October! It was terrifying.  The streets were flooded...

...and the car was pelted with all manner of leaves, branches, and quarter-sized ice chunks.

Again, it was terrifying.  So we pulled over and held hands and prayed for our lives.  Which was awesome and seemed to work.

When the pelting slowed, we made our way slowly to Chez Amaia.  Glad to be alive, we felt the need to document our bedraggled state:
